Thomas Egan
Mr. Egan began his involvement in the computer industry in early 1973 during the time of punch cards, telex and vacuum tube based “transistors”, under a top secret security clearance, he was exposed to technologies to come.
As each new step was made to enable the user to become more efficient using computing technologies, Mr. Egan has been involved in a definitive way. In the 70’s and early 80’s, with the advent of the Atari 800, TRS-80, Apple, Apple II and the IBM PC, the world of personal computing began to take shape. In 1985, Xerox released a system called the “Xerox Documenter”. This system based on the Xerox 6085 using ViewPoint software which was based on a PARC produced language called Mesa, was the milestone necessary to build many of the systems the personal computer employs today. As a direct Xerox Documenter customer, Mr. Egan had first hand knowledge of things to come. Tom@wcww.com.
